Pole of Swords
Prairie stretches out from the Tower of Swords; a grassland dotted with forests in the north and deserts in the south before breaking into the frozen or burning wastes. Here wind whips the land constantly, swirling around the Tower itself – a testament to the element of this Pole; Air. Here the winter can harsh; with the Tower of Swords drawing on the chill winds of the north. Summers, however, can be are dry and dusty drawing on the heat of the south, bringing with it drought. For the most part life in around the Pole of Swords holds great promise of Providence being both fertile, temperate and resource rich. Though populated by the Chimmer, it was this promise that first drew the Pilgrims to settle the Sword-lands. Yet while the land was rich and filled with promise, it was also a wild and unruly place. Here beyond the reach of law and order was a rugged existence; for not only did the Pilgrims have to settle and build they also had to fend off the wild tribes of Chimmer, deal with the monstrosities of uncheck Mancik and battle the bands of outlaws that formed to prey on them. Here was a life by the Sword, where best Killer was the best man. The Confederation was born out of necessity in this chaotic time, an organization formed out of the necessary drive to civilization.
